The George Washington Teacher's Institute at Mount Vernon

At the 69th Annual Meeting of our Society in Philadelphia, the Executive Board voted to make an annual donation of $2500 to the Mount Vernon George Washington Summer Teacher’s Institute. Our funding will provide one-half of the tuition and accommodations for one teacher to attend this week-long continuing education program, learning more about our first President. This one teacher will then pass on to countless students a deepened appreciation of George Washington and his role in the history of our nation. 

NSWFD members can lend support to this worthy endeavor as well. By making individual contributions directly to the Mount Vernon GWTI scholarship fund, a full scholarship in the amount of $5000 could be made available to a teacher this summer.
